The UN Futures Lab/Global Hub collaborates with UN training institutions to strengthen capacity-building initiatives on strategic foresight, equipping participants with tools to address complex challenges in peacebuilding and global development. This includes the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Hiroshima Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development Primary course and the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) Strategic Foresight Module in the UN2.0 Fundamentals E-learning path.
Integrating strategic foresight into training programmes is critical for equipping UN personnel with the skills needed to navigate uncertainty and drive impactful solutions in peacebuilding and development. By developing tailored training modules and providing expert guidance, the UN Futures Lab/Global Hub helps build long-term capability across the UN system. These efforts ensure that participants not only understand foresight concepts but also apply them effectively to real-world challenges. Embedding foresight into structured learning pathways creates a strong foundation for fostering anticipatory thinking, enhancing decision-making, and enabling a future-ready workforce to address evolving global complexities.
