Global Foresight Directory
The Global Foresight Directory is a publicly accessible resource managed by the UN Futures Lab/Global Hub, originally funded by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and developed by the School of International Futures (SOIF). This dynamic catalogue highlights foresight actors, institutions, and organizations worldwide, with a focus on the Global South. With over 600 profiles, the Directory captures the breadth and depth of the foresight sector, creating visibility, inclusion, and opportunities for collaboration across the ecosystem.
Initially launched as a research project, the Directory has evolved into a searchable, updatable, and filterable online database designed to:
- Showcase and connect foresight practitioners, particularly those in the Global South.
- Facilitate partnerships by helping users identify collaborators based on specific themes or geographies.
- Foster collaboration and growth within the global foresight community as a community-owned, evolving tool.
Why it matters
The Global Foresight Directory democratizes access to foresight networks, enabling individuals and organizations to connect, share knowledge, and drive innovation. By amplifying the voices of practitioners from the Global South, it supports a more inclusive and diverse foresight ecosystem while strengthening global collaboration.
